Cover Crazy: Promise of Shadows
This cover didn't make me love it until after I had read the book. Now that I know the story inside, this cover is perfect! The black feathers are a great representation of the main character, a harpy with magic of the shadows rather than the light. The title font is a beautiful sky blue, yet seems to swirl like a storm. The words of the title are a spot-on representation of the main character; she IS the promise, and she IS of the shadows. It is so dark and almost sad- and yet, there is a gloss that is alluring and just enough clear sky peeking through to allow hope that all will be well. I think this cover as a whole is a great representation of the novel.
I really like how simple the cover looks at first glance but then you see all of the feathers. Plus that blue is really pretty on the black background. I'll have to see if I can find a copy of this.
