Top Ten Tuesday 2/1/11

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish

This week the topic was Top 10 Favorite Debuts:

Andrea = Odds, Tevya = Evens

1. Nightshade by Andrea Cremer: I just can't help myself. This book is my new addiction. I was so impressed that this was a debut novel and I can't wait to get more of the story. Thank you Andrea Cremer for bringing Ren into my life!

2. We Hate Everything But Boys by Linda Lewis: This is the book that really and truly began  my love for reading and started my series addiction. It was the first time ever that I begged my mom to go to the book store immediately upon the release of the next book in the series.

3. Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling: I cannot get enough of the HP universe even now. These are books I love to live in.

4. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer: The book that changed my world. LOL Seriously, Twilight is one of my all time favorite books.

5. The Everafter by Amy Huntley: This novel haunted me long after I had read the final word.

6. Nightshade by Andrea Cremer: One of my new all-time favorite books. I love the world she created for this series.

7. The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting: This is one of my favorite new series. I love the characters and Violet's unique way of finding bodies.

8. Dark Lover by J. R. Ward: This book introduced me to the thrill of adul paranormal romance. As much as I adore YA literature, there's nothing like a good adult read to escape the stress of the every day.

9. Lament by Maggie Stiefvater: This is the book that first introduced Maggie to the world. She has become one of my favorite writers. She is so talented! As much as I loved Shiver, this book is by far my favorite work she has done.

10. Wake by Lisa McMann - I love the Wake trilogy and I'm so looking forward to Cryer's Cross.

  1. Good to see a list from those who have different reading preferences than I do. My wish list keeps growing and growing, and that's a good thing!

  2. @J.C. - Thanks for stopping by! I enjoyed seeing the lists of people who read outside my typical genre. It inspired me to pick up some other titles I might not have given a chance in the past.

  3. OMG!! It's so glad to see that someone else feels that way about Twilight! I LOVED that books and have gotten all my friends to read it too. Also, the whole Harry Potter series is amazing! It's funny that I became such a fan of both since I was skeptical of them due to all the hype around them. Great Books! There are others on this list that I need to read ASAP :)

  4. Wow, Andrea Cremer's Nightshade made both of your lists. Guess I'll have to look into that one. :)

  6. Just wanted to give my own shout-out to Maggie Stiefvater. . . she can create some of the most poetic prose I've ever had the pleasure of reading. :D

  8. The Twilight series is just something I can not force myself to read. It's almost like a little kid defiance. Maybe one day when the world is done with it's enthralled-ness of the series. Now if Rowling could just put out a few more Harry Potter books, I'd be really happy. lol

  9. Very good list. I thought about putting Dark Lover on mine but to be honest it wasn't my favorite of the series. I also couldn't bring myself to put Twilight on my list. I'm one of the few people I know who read them before they were the "cool new thing" and now I feel ashamed to even mention that I have :P

Anyway thanks for stopping by and saying hi!

  13. Thank you for stopping by! I also loved "Nightshade" and I can't wait for its sequel. I'm leaning on towards Team Ren and I hope I'm not wrong. I also liked "The Body Finder" but I thought Violet's ability was really creepy.
