Cover Crazy: The Julian Game

The purpose of Cover Crazy is to feature a cover each week for us to admire its beauty. I really like this idea since there are so many great covers out there! Cover Crazy is a meme that was started by The Book Worms.

The colors in this cover pop. I was instantly drawn to the girl's hair and the bright green gloves. She looks like she is about to do something illegal and I'm intrigued to read it to find out what. The checkerboard floor tiles give this a playful edge. The arrow poised above the title reminds me of the hover arrow that shows up on computers so I am predicting that the plot will have some online connection. My mind instantly is transported to the issue of bullying via the internet. Perhaps this is because I am a teacher and have had many students dealing with the issue. It might also stem from the fact that I watched a movie on cyber bullying on Netflix earlier this weekend. This cover also made me think of school because the girl's outfit somewhat resembles a school uniform. Furthermore, I am intrigued by the fact that you can't see the girl's eyes. I wonder why they chose to keep that part of her a secret. I am really excited to read this one. I am going to avoid reading the summary for this one and just dive right in.
