Cover Crazy: A Wounded Name

The purpose of Cover Crazy is to feature a cover each week for us to admire its beauty. I really like this idea since there are so many great covers out there! Cover Crazy is a feature that was started by The Book Worms.

I was originally drawn to this cover because it reminded me of Ophelia. I read the summary on Goodreads and was happy to learn that the story is a Hamlet retelling. I love the sense of sorrow I get from looking at this one. This girl is obviously not about to take a leisurely swim. I love the somber colors, but appreciate that the flowers give a pop of vibrant color. The flowers also make me think of funerals as they are often the one bright spot in a sea of mourning. I also think its intriguing that it looks like the girl is in the process of jumping into the water; she almost looks like she's hovering above the surface of the water. What are your thoughts on this cover?

  1. Wow, it really is a gorgeous gorgeous cover!! And a Hamlet retelling? I'll have to check it and add it to the TBR list, I think!
