My review of book 1, Half-Blood

My review of book 2, Pure
My review of book 3, Deity
My review of book 4, Apollyon

This is one of my favorite current YA series. I've reviewed each book on Reading Lark, and each book has been just as satisfying to devour as the last. This finale exceeded expectations, and I couldn't be happier with how the story concludes.

Battles scenes are plentiful. Allies are unexpected. Consequences are unimaginable. After being broken to pieces in her battles with Ares at the end of book 4, Alex's situation is grim at best. Desperate times call for desperate measures- and so our heroine and her rag-tag bunch of compatriots go to extreme length to find a solution to their seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

Alex and Aiden: I can't think of a more perfect YA couple. She exemplifies how a girl can be independent and strong, but not sacrifice her femininity. He is gorgeous, and yet what the readers loves him best for is how he wars with his drive to protect Alex, doing his best to take care of her while being respectful of her abilities to take care of herself and others. It's a difficult tight wire to walk, these two perfectly imperfect characters loving each other while saving the world, but Armentrout does it with style and sass.

These books are the best kind of for-entertainment reading. They are quick, straightforward reads that high in fun factor and action. They are unapologetically snarky and sexy and unrealistic- and yet the characters showcase the best, and worst, of realistic human interaction. I simply love them all.

Summary:

It's a beautiful day for a war.

As the mortal world slowly slips into chaos of the godly kind, Alexandria Andros must overcome a stunning defeat that has left her shaken and in doubt of their ability to end this war once and for all.

And with all the obstacles between Alex and her happily-ever-after with the swoonworthy Aiden St. Delphi, they must now trust a deadly foe as they travel deep into the Underworld to release one of the most dangerous gods of all time.

In the stunning, action-packed climax to the bestselling Covenant series, Alex must face a terrible choice: the destruction of everything and everyone she holds dear… or the end of herself.
