Teaser Tuesday: Famous in Love, Sinner, & Outlander

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

It's nice to have sunshine, don't get me wrong, but there's something about the rain that makes me feel at home. It's the smell. Even here, where the salt water threads its way into almost everything, it still smells the same. Like cool moss or strong pine or the heady, calming scent of lavender. The clouds roll in, my nervous system relaxes, and things feel quieter, less intense. Like the world softens.

I wasn't particularly gifted at staying anywhere. But L.A. Was where Isabel Culpeper was. Thinking her name was a dangerous, obsessive thought-road. I would not let myself call her until I had gotten to the house. I would not call her until I had thought of a theatrical way to tell her I was in California.

I would not call her until I was sure she would be happy I was here.

~ Sinner (The Wolves of Mercy Falls #4) by Maggie Stiefvater, pg. 11

I could feel the hair rising on my forearms, as though with cold, and rubbed them uneasily. Two hundred years. From 1945 to 1743; yes, near enough. And women who traveled through the rocks. Was it always women? I wondered suddenly.

Something else occurred to me. The women came back. Holy water, spell, or knife, they came back. So perhaps, just perhaps, it was possible.

  3. Great teasers all around! I especially like the one about the rain. I agree, the rain makes everything quieter, and softer.

    Here are My Teasers.
