Book Blogger Hop: 2/4 - 2/7

Book Blogger Hop
This week's question: "What are you reading now and why are you reading it?"

Tevya: I am reading two books right now. I am still reading (and wallowing in) Night Embrace by Sherrilyn Kenyon. It's my escape, my enjoyment read. I'm also reading Ordeal by Tatyana K. Varenko. This one is more of an obligation. Tatyana asked us if we'd review her new book, so I'm reading it now for her. I have to be honest and say that Night Embrace is the more enjoyable read at the moment.

Andrea: I am currently reading Bridget Jones' Diary by Helen Fielding. I wanted to read this because I loved the movie so much. In my experience the book is always better than the movie so I thought I'd see if this held true for this one as well. Bridget Jones is one of my favorite literary females. She just cracks me up. I am truly enjoying this book.

  1. Just hopping by on the blog! Thanks for stopping by my site.

I've read Night Embrace and Bridget Jones' Diary. Both are great reads although I find I need to space out my Kenyon books. They tend to blur together if you read them back to back. Looking forward to review of Ordeal, maybe it will pick up as you get into it. Also, a new follower.

    Happy Reading!

  7. Hopping through. I read Bridget Jones when I was about 19 or so. I didn't like it much at the time. I wonder if I'd like it better now that I'm 29.

  8. @Alison - I think age with Bridget Jones does make a difference. I am enjoying it, but I can see how as a teen or younger adult it would have irked me. I couldn't relate to Bridget at that age. Even as an adult we don't have similar lives, but I can at least see where she is coming from. I am particularly drawn to her job issues since I am unhappy with mine as well and trying to break out into something different.

  9. I'm reading Matched by Ally Condie. And I'm loving it. I've always loved the Bridget Jones movies. I haven't read the books but I keep wanting to. How do they compare to the movies?

  10. @Elizabeth - The movie does a pretty good job of staying faithful to the book. There are some differences, but nothing that deviates too far. I am working on my review and will have it up in a bit.
