Book Blogger Hop & Follow Friday 3/18/11
I usually have only one book going at a time. I tend to get so deeply involved in the book that I am reading that it's too hard to go back and forth between stories. If I listened to audio books, I could probably do two at a time, but I am a music junkie and refuse to give up my music time in the car. Also, many of the books I read, even YA, are not suitable for my young children who are usually in the car with me. Now that I am reviewing and getting requests from authors and publishers, I will need to start trying to read at least two at a time because a lot of what I read I won't review or post about on the blog. (I'm somewhat of a smut addict.) My goal is to have one "guilty pleasure" book going and one "to review" or YA book going at the same time. We'll see how that goes.
"How did you come up with your blog name?"
Well, Andrea and I were originally Unshelved Book Blog, which Andrea came up with on her own and I loved. Then we found out that there is already a well established review blog, comic strip, and small merchandise line named Unshelved. One of the owners very kindly asked us to change our name, and of course we agreed. Reading Lark came about while Andrea and I were brainstorming one night. We were chatting and just throwing out silly names at each other. We really liked the little birdies (courtesy of Julie and our talented friend Jen) that were in our Unshelved banner, so we decided to go with a bird theme. We tossed back and forth a bunch of names and word combinations, some totally silly and ridiculous, and a few really good options. We fell in love with Reading Lark and it stuck. It took us a while to get use to the change, but now we can't imagine being anything else. Reading Lark just suits us, and our blog, so well.
