Book Blogger Hop

"If you could physically put yourself into a book or series…which one would it be and why?"

Andrea: I always wanted to be in the North and South trilogy by John Jakes. I love the antebellum and Civil War time periods in US History. I also love the Mains and the Hazzards.

Tevya: I would love to be in the Fallen series. I love the idea of a love that spans lifetimes and I am in love with Daniel.

Q. Inspired by the inane twitter trend of #100FACTSABOUTME,

GIVE US FIVE BOOK RELATED SILLY FACTS ABOUT YOU.

Andrea:

1. Even though I want to read all the books I purchased for my Kindle I keep putting things on hold at the library. I currently have 45 things checked out including audiobooks, fiction, guidebooks, and Native American history resources.

2. I check the Kindle store daily to see if there are any freebies that look interesting.

3. I have been to Forks & LaPush 4 times now and keep going back. Originally it was for the Twilight Saga, but now I just love that area.

4. I love to visit author's graves. My most recent visit was to the graves of Thomas Wolfe and O. Henry.

5. I always choose a character when I read and I hear their voice most clearly in my head throughout the novel. Sometimes after a stressful day I might even read that character's dialog aloud. My husband thinks I'm nuts, but it really does help me calm down and relax.

Tevya:

1. I write my name along the pages of my books instead of the inside cover.

2. My books are in order by favorites, by author, by series, and alphabetically.

3. I always have a book with me at all times. Even if I know I won't have time to read, I still have a book with me.

4. I belong to several online book clubs, and some of my very best friends were met through them.

5. I have been to Forks and I dream about visiting the locations of my other favorite books.

  3. @BLHmistress - Nice to see you! We have missed your visits. The third book was my least favorite of the series too. The first is by far my favorite in the trilogy. I also have to admit I love the movies maybe a tiny bit more.

@Lazy Girl - Thank you so much for the sweet comment. We are pretty obsessed with our blog look. It is nice to hear others dig it too. The most recent grave visits were to Thomas Wolfe and O. Henry; both are buried in Riverside Cemetery in Asheville, NC. I need to add some more graves to my visited list soon!

  4. Authors' graves!?!? WOW! I think that's just as creepy as it is cool! I've never thought of it before but I think it would be nice to visit an author's grave.

New follower! Thanks for dropping by :)

  5. @Honey - I suppose it does sound slightly creepy, but I just think it's interesting for some reason. It was very cool to live pennies on O.Henry's grave. I feel like I was part of some literary tradition. I really want to make it Poe's grave one day.

Thank you for the follow! :)

Hee, I didn't think of Fallen when answering that question, but then again I'm still stuck in the Buffy-verse because I did read the tie-in books and the comics for the show. lol. So, yeah...that.

Hopping back through the rabbit hole, to say hiya!

  12. Hopping through. I've never been to Forks or LaPush, but I'd like to go. I've been to Port Angeles though (about 15 years ago) and thought it was one of the prettiest areas of the country.

  17. Haha Fallen! As long as I don't go to Sword&Cross, I'll be fine. All your answers sound similar to mine! Except authors' graves. Not my type of stuff.

  18. Hopping by! I watched the North and South miniseries when I was little (beginning a love affair with both Orry Main and Patrick Swayze) but I didn't love the books when I read them in my teen years. Perhaps it's time to have a re-read!

  20. Thank you for stopping by and Neville?? I'm basing my judgement off the movies, and in the movies... oh goodness. But I haven't seen the recent ones so I looked the actor up and let me tell you, I was surprised to see he was pretty cute!

I didn't know Forks was real! I'm totally going to go there someday. I bet the people there hate Stephanie Meyer now :)

  23. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Sorry I'm not more on board with your answers. The U.S. Civil War era doesn't seem like a good fit for me and I haven't read the Fallen series, though I am interested in it. If nothing else, the book covers are gorgeous.

  24. My former History major heart just squeed to see the word antebellum describing a book series. :) I'm usually not big on historical fiction, but I might have to check those out.
Thanks for hopping by my blog. I'm your newest follower.

  25. I love these answers, although being of mixed heritage, I'd be considered an octoroon, and I don't think Civil War times would be the best place for me to be! :)

I like visiting old gravesites as well; I like the history of it - even thinking of doing some etchings.

I've also been known to turn around and head back into the house when I see that I forgot to grab my current read on the way out!

  26. Just hopping by! Cool blog. I haven't read Lauren Kate's novels yet and I need to add it to my TBR list.

I picked Harry Potter - which is no stretch but hey... Anyway, stop by my blog and check it out if you get a chance. Plus, I'm doing a giveaway for Rachel Caine's Bite Club if interested. Best, Mina.
