Book Blogger Hop

"If you were given the chance to spend one day in a fictional world (from a book), which book would it be from and what would that place be?"

Andrea: There are so many places I could choose, but if I only had one day I would want to spend it at Hogwarts (pre-epic battle). I would want a full day of classes and a slumber party in the tower. I know that Hermione and I would get along. Plus, I would get to be around some of my favorite characters. Who doesn't want to be magical?

Tevya: I'd love to live in the futuristic USA that the In Death series is set in. There are so many conveniences. I'd love to be able to order up a mean on my autochef or program my car to bring me home and take a little afternoon snooze during the ride. I realize there are a lot of downfalls to this world as well, but I love the way that J. D. Robb writes about the future. I typically am not a sci-fi or futuristic reader, but I love the world she has created for this series.

Can you tell us FIVE quirky habits or things about you? We all have them...

Andrea:

1.  I have a serious Starbucks addiction. I go at least once a day. Sometimes I even go 2 or 3 times a day. I don't even drink coffee - I am a tea girl.

2. I met my BFF online. I would be lost without her. God bless the internet.

3. I don't eat seafood of any kind. (Are you seeing a theme here? Pickest eater evah..)

4. I have to check all the doors 3 times before I can go to sleep.

5. I kiss my index finger every time I pass through a yellow light.

Tevya:

1. I am slightly OCD. I like for everything to be lined up straight. I have been known to straighten a potential boss's desk during an interview, and friends use to turn one picture upside down or slightly crooked and just wait to see how long it would take me to fix it. I would always walk by and fix it and continue on my way without even thinking or saying anything about it. I am forever straightening or restacking things around me.

2. I love dachshunds. I have two rescue dogs right now. One of them is my heart and soul, Jasper. We got him at 9 months old from a dachshund rescue organization. He was severely malnourished and he as just flourished in our home. That's not the odd or quirky thing. Stinky dog falls into that category. The next dachshund we rescued from a divorce. Neither owner wanted to keep him, and we quickly found out why. After baths and skin treatments, teeth pulling and sinus surgeries, this dog still reeks. We can smell him from across the room, and heaven forbid he sneezes on you. (Eeeewwww) But, we just didn't have the hear to turn him away after no one else wanted him. So Nigel is affectionately called "Stinky Dog". While he doesn't get as much love as Jasper does, we take good care for him and our kids love him to death. (I guess kids don't notice the stink?) He has fourished with us as well, poor Stinky Dog.

3. I met my best friends in the whole world online. Yep, no eHarmony or Match.Com for me. TwilightMOMs brought the most amazing women into my life. I can name a friend in almost any state in the US, and parts of Europe. I vacation with two of my best friends met on the site, and I even have local friends who I met through TMs.

4. I'm addicted to Diet Coke. I can't help it. I know how bad it is for me. I tried to give it up in November, and I made it to March. I just can't shake the habit.

5. I was named after the milk man in Fiddler on the Roof. (It makes for a fun story to tell people. When my husband and I first started dating, he insisted on watching Fiddler on the Roof. I think he made it through the first two hours and has never finished it. We've been together for almost 17 years now. One day I'll make him finish it.)
