Book Boyfriend: Jace Wayland
We decided that Thursday needed a little pizazz and stumbled on this meme. So we took ourselves over to The Unread Reader to see what it was all about and join the fun. The Unread Reader features this meme on Wednesdays, but we figured moving our participation to Thursday wouldn't hurt anything. We'd love it if you'd leave a comment if you participate in this so we can check out your book boyfriends as well.
My book boyfriend is: Jace Wayland
Book he's in: The Mortal Instruments series
Author: Cassandra Clare
My ideal Jace is Mathias Lauridsen.
Book he's in: The Mortal Instruments series
Author: Cassandra Clare
My ideal Jace is Mathias Lauridsen.
His appearance: *he's smaller than Alec, his fighting partner
*his hair is tawny gold, coppery gold in the sun, and is usually mussed
*he has wide-spaced light gold eyes that contribute to his lion-like appearance
*he has lots of old scars from faded Marks
*he plays piano
*he is exceptionally strong and agile, and trains regularly to be ready for battle
*he likes to go to the rooftop greenhouse when he wants to be alone
*he is petrified that he is going to turn out just like his father
*he seems utterly fearless. In reality, he has a long list of fears, but puts himself in harm's way rather than allow others to be endangered.
*his upbringing is both the reason he is connected to those he loves, and also why he worries that he may eventually be the cause of their demise
Quotes:
"Oh, he's rude to everyone," said Isabelle airily. 'It's what makes him so damn sexy."
"You disappear so completely into your head sometimes," he said. "I wish I could follow you."
"I know it's wrong - God, it's all kinds of wrong - but I just want to lie down with you and wake up with you, just once, just once ever in my life."
"Since I've met you, everything I've done has been in part because of you. I can't untie myself from you, Clary- not my heart or my blood or my mind or any other part of me. And I don't want to."
Why I love Jace: I love me some angsty, guilt-ridden boys. Jace is about as angsty as they come. He has built a shell of overpowering ego to compensate for his underlying fear that he will turn out to be one of the bad guys. He fights physically when he's hunting, but otherwise, he lets his fierce wit do most of the dirty work. (Andrea tells me I like snarky boys.)
*sigh*
ReplyDeleteOoh, gotta love Jace! Great pick this week! :)
ReplyDeleteJace would always be the book boyfriend in my head. I'm not sure if I could picture a Jace in reality but *sigh*...he's just the perfect in-my-head kind of person. :D

ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone! Mr. Lauridsen isn't actually an actor, as far as I know- he's a model. His look is pretty close to Jace, though.
ReplyDelete@Frosy- I know, right? Snarky boys keep a girl on her toes.
