Slow Burn: Character Interview

As part of the Slow Burn Blog Tour, I had the amazing opportunity to sit down with our very own (well, Ashley would argue that he's her very own) Ron Noble for an interview. I have been looking forward to this post for longer than I can even tell y'all. I am still giddy with excitement.

And now, a little insight into our hunky leading man...

Tevya: Hi, Ron. Thank you for agreeing to talk to me. Please, have a seat.

Ron: Thank you.

*Ron, dressed in jeans, green shirt and a leather jacket, which he removes and drapes over the back of the chair, sits and leans back*

Ron: I hope this won’t long. Ashley and I are going to visit her family, and we plan to beat the traffic.

Tevya *smiles*: I’ll try to be as brief as possible. How’s the family doing? I hear Ashley’s is very large.

Ron *chuckles*: That’s putting it mildly. They are more like a clan—the New York Fitzgeralds, the Boston Fitzgerald. Texas…L.A… So? What do you want to know?

Tevya: Let’s start at the beginning. What would you have done if Ashley had refused to help you with your investigation?

Ron: I would have hounded her until she saw things my way.

Tevya: You mean stalked her?

Ron: No, sweetheart. *He leans forward and takes Tevya’s hand…slowly, he raises it to his lips and presses a gentle kiss on the back of her hand* I can be quite charming and persuasive when I want to. May call you, Tevya?



Tevya *sighs dreamily*: Of course.

Ron lets go of her hand and sits back, a smile on his lips.

Tevya *blushing, consults her notes then clears her throat*: You were happy to be a bachelor. Had you not met Ashley, would you still be a bachelor?

Ron *expression growing serious*: Ashley and I are meant to be together. I’m meant to love her just as she’s meant to love me. We would have eventually found each other.

Tevya *eyes wide*: So you believe in soul mates.

Ron *shrugs*: If that’s what you want to call us. All I know is she’s mine.

Tevya *sighs*: Lucky girl. Did you have any idea that Ashley knew of your...reputation? If so, how did you handle that?

Ron *frowns*: What reputation?

Tevya: With women.

Ron *frown deepens*: I was bachelor, and I have a healthy sexual appetite. The women understood I wasn’t looking for commitment. We had fun and went our separate ways. I don’t understand how that turned into a reputation.

Tevya: But Ashley knew—

Ron *scowls*: She refuses to tell me how she heard about my, uh, past.

Tevya: So how did she, and you deal, with it?

Ron *still scowling*: She threw it in my face then kicked me out of her loft, but I later learned my reputation had nothing to do with that. Ashley is a strong woman. She understands I’m not the man I used to be. She’s all the woman that I need now.

Tevya: So you’re saying your reputation—

Ron: Is no longer important. Next question.

Tevya*grimaces*: Okay. Were you worried Ashley might not forgive you for keeping the truth from her?

Ron: Oh yeah, but I had a plan to win her back.

Tevya *leans forward*: Do tell.

Ron *a naughty smile crosses his lips*: Let’s just say it involved handcuffs, lots of takeouts and chocolate, and staying indoors…preferably my bedroom.

Tevya *blushes*: Wow. You…you’re something else.

Ron *still grinning*: Anything to keep her by my side.

Tevya *grins*: How far were you willing to go save her?

Ron *stiffens, eyes narrowing*: All the way. That bastard was lucky the police got to him first.

Tevya: So if he’d hurt her, you would…?

Ron: be in jail for ripping his head off.

Tevya *shudders at his calm, matter of fact tone*: Phew…okay. On to a lighter, just for fun stuff. Boxers or Briefs?

Ron *cocks his eyebrow*: You serious?

Tevya: Absolutely. My readers want to know.

Ron: Why?

Tevya *shrugs*: Because…

Ron *eyes narrowing*: Did Ashley put you up to this?

Tevya: No, but if you’re embarrassed and can’t answer…

Ron *shakes his head*: Briefs.

Tevya: Sex or Romance?

Ron *grins*: Sex, and plenty of it.

Tevya *laughing*: Does Ashley know that?

Ron *chuckles*: She agrees wholeheartedly, but we have our romantic moments…before, during, after.

Tevya: Beach or Pool?

Ron: Beach.

Tevya: Party or Quiet evening at home?

Ron: Evening at home, though it’s not always quiet.

Tevya *grinning*: You’re a very naughty man, Ron.

Ron *shrugs*: Just stating a fact.

Tevya: If you had a daughter, would you let her date a man like you?

Ron: Hell no. My daughter won’t date until she’s thirty.

Tevya: Poor girl. Here’s the last question. We know that Slow Burn is the first of The Fitzgerald Family series. Does this mean we will get a little more of you and Ashley? Will we be able to follow your life together a bit?

Ron: Absolutely. I think Ashley will be having a bachelorette party soon, which I’m sure you’ll enjoy reading about. I don’t think she needs one, but the Fitzgerald women are unstoppable when they decide on something. She promised they’d be no male dancers.

Tevya: As in strippers?

Ron: As in losers, who have no business dancing half-clothed in front of my woman.

Ron *stands up and shakes Tevya’s hand*: It’s been nice chatting with you, Tevya. I hope we meet again.

Tevya *walking Ron to the door*: I hope so too. Tell Ashley I said hey.
