My thoughts:
I hadn't read any of the Iron Fey series until July of this year. I had several friends who had read and enjoyed the series, but I just hadn't picked it up yet. My mistake. I should have been reading these books a long time ago.
I. LOVE. THIS. SERIES.

Ash's journey in this volume is both physical and spiritual, and both are riveting. As his beloved Meghan starts the series and becomes more and more fey-like, Ash starts very much a faerie prince who acquires humanity. It was such fun to watch them come to understand each other as they fell in love. The lengths to which Ash is willing to go for Meghan. . . before reading this book, you think you know. When you read the book, you find that it's even further than you imagined.

Be prepared for this volume to look and feel very different from the first three, in that Meghan and Ash are separated through most of The Iron Knight. This volume is about his quest to find a way to be with her in the Iron Kingdom. As iron is poisonous to fey, this is no small task, and the journey takes on epic proportions.

Don't worry about missing out on the swoon-worthy Ash, though. Kagawa sprinkles in just enough romance to remind us why we care about Our Hero in the first place. And the scenes that we get are both memorable and re-readable.

If you like YA fantasy with a little romance on the side, this is definitely a series that you'll want to pick up. If you've already read the first three volumes, please leave a comment and tell me I'm not the only one who is Team Ash!
