We are excited to welcome author, Jillian Eaton, to the nest today.
Andrea @ Reading Lark: Why did you choose to self publish?
Jillian: I decided to self publish after a ton of research. I followed the successful self published authors,
drove them crazy sent them e-mails, and read all their books. When I realized "Hey, this might be something I can actually do", I gave it a shot with "A Brooding Beauty", a historical romance I released in February as a sort of test run. When it didn't fall flat on its face, I released "Pitch", a YA novella about blood thirsty vampires taking over the world, followed by After Ever, my first full length novel. I enjoy the control that self publishing gives you, although it can definitely be a double edged sword.
Andrea @ Reading Lark: Can you describe your novel in five words?
Jillian: Original, fast-paced, imaginative, quirky, whimsical
Andrea @ Reading Lark: What are your top 3 favorite YA novels?
Jillian: Angelfall by Susan Ee, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows by JK Rowling,The False Princess by Eilis O'Neal
Andrea @ Reading Lark: Does music inspire you? If so, what are a few songs from your playlist?
Jillian: I actually cannot listen to music while I write. I know, I'm weird. So unfortunately, none of my books have playlists.
Andrea @ Reading Lark: Where is your book set?
Jillian: After Ever can really be broken into two parts. The first part takes place in a remote ski lodge in Maine during the dead of winter, the second part takes place in a place called the After, which - in this book, at least - is where you go when you die.
Andrea @ Reading Lark: If you could travel anywhere in the world today, where would you go?
Andrea @ Reading Lark: What is your favorite bird?
Jillian: A chickadee. It reminds me of home.

“Just because you’re dead doesn’t mean you can’t die again in a thousand different ways.”
For sixteen-year-old Winnie Coleman, dying is the least of her worries. Between coming to terms with her mother’s unexpected death, trying to think up new and inventive ways to break up her father and Girlfriend #3, and keeping her brother from chewing off his fingers, she has her hands full. Courtesy of a thin patch of ice and failed swimming lessons, all of that changes in the blink of an eye.
In death Winnie will find the answers that eluded her in life, and a whole slew of other questions she never thought to ask. Like why is she stuck with Sam for a guide? Sure, he’s funny and cute in a geeky sort of way, but he wears sweater vests… and loafers. For a girl who has tattoos on her face and glue in her hair, it’s not exactly the best match up.
But when Sam is taken and his very existence threatened, Winnie must make the ultimate choice between cowardice and courage. Faithlessness and loyalty. Family... and love.
Suspenseful and action packed, After Ever is a must read for anyone who ever wondered: what happens next?
About the Author:
Jillian grew up in Maine. Blessed with loving parents and an annoying little sister (who is no longer annoying but will always be thought of as little), she spent her days riding horses, writing stories, and building fairy houses in the woods behind her house.
Jillian now resides in beautiful Bucks County, Pennsylvania where she manages a private horse farm and avoids cooking at all costs. She has two dogs and two horses which often make guest appearances in her stories.
Currently, besides finishing the Wedded Women Quartet and getting ready to release her first full length young adult novel After Ever, Jillian is very busy planning her September wedding.
Jillian loves staying up late finishing a really good book, getting e-mails from readers, bubblegum ice cream, baby ducks, and writing endings. She hates alarm clocks, math in all forms, always being late for everything, and heights.
