Author Interview: Jessica Roberts
We are excited to welcome author, Jessica Roberts, to the nest today.
Andrea @ Reading Lark: Why did you choose to write YA?
Jessica: Because that's my favorite genre to read. And for me, there's nothing better than those first looks and first kisses. I can't get enough of that stuff!
Caveat: There's a genre of books that is starting to grow in popularity called "New Adult". It's a cross-over category from YA into Adult and it's for ages 17-25. My book would fit perfectly into this category, and this is the real age range I like to write for.
Andrea @ Reading Lark: Can you describe your novel in five words?
Jessica: Sweet, spicy college romance with-a-twist (evidently not! ha)
Andrea @ Reading Lark: What was the last book you read?
Jessica: Divergent Series
Jessica: A lot of my friends tell me they think of me when they read The Hunger Games. So maybe Katniss. We're similar in that I would do anything for my family, I've worn my hair in a french braid before, I would sing at my friend's funeral, and if I knew how to shoot a bow and arrow I'm sure I would be a good shot. However, I think I might have picked Gale over Peeta.
Andrea @ Reading Lark: Where is your book set?
Jessica: A college town in St. Louis, Mo.
Andrea @ Reading Lark: Who are three of your favorite authors?
Jessica: Current=I don't really have a favorite author, just favorite books
Classic= Bronte Sisters
Childhood=C.S. Lewis
Andrea @ Reading Lark: What is your favorite bird?
Jessica: Oh wow . . . Well, I know my least favorite: Those little chirping black birds that attack your head on that same street every morning riding your Mongoose on your paper route when you're thirteen and you don't dare go down that street one day because the birds are especially aggressive and the next day your route gets several complaints and you get fired!

Sunshine? (I know you said "pick one" but I've never been great at following rules - sorry!!!!)
