Book Boyfriend: Zachary Moore

We decided that Thursday needed a little pizazz and stumbled on this meme while hanging out at one of our favorite blogs, A Book and a Cupcake. So we took ourselves over to The Unread Reader to see what it was all about and join the fun. We'd love it if you'd leave a comment if you participate in this so we can check out your book boyfriends as well.

My Book Boyfriend: Zachary Moore from the Shade Trilogy
by Jeri Smith-Ready

My ideal Zachary is Sean Faris!  Feel free to Google him!

Zachary's Appearance as described by Aura upon their first meeting:

"The boy stood alone now, hands on his hips, examining me.  A breeze blew a splash of dark bangs across his forehead, and his posture made his faded blue T-shirt stretch across his broad chest." ~p. 19 Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready.

"Then he turned the purest green eyes to mine." ~p. 20 Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready.

"God, he was gorgeous.  And Scottish.  But maybe kind of an ass." ~p. 21 Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready.

Aura notices that Zachary has the cutest dimples when he smiles, dark thick eyelashes, long legs and big hands.

Facts About Zachary:

~  Zachary is an exchange student from Scotland

~  He rolls his 'r's' like a true Scotsman

~  Zach is known to proudly wear a kilt to certain functions, like Prom!

~  Zachary is a bit of a science geek

~  He was a little nervous driving at first on American streets

~  He was the last baby born before the Shift and is known as a pre-Shifter

~  He lives with his father Ian who is a former agent of the UK version of the DMP

~  Zachary was 'detained' by the American DMP where he was kept in solitary confinement

~  He and Aura always found 'creative' ways to express their thoughts and feelings for each other

Quotes from Zachary/About Zachary:

"Aura, I'm really patient, but I'm not a bloody saint." ~ Zachary to Aura (Goodreads)

"Zachary wasn't a replacement for my first love.  He was my third half, as odd as that sounded.  With him gone, I felt--not incomplete, exactly.  More like unfinished.  Like there was something I was meant to be and do and discover.  Without Zachary, that something would always be out of reach." ~ Aura about Zachary, p.87 Shine

"He leaned closer, a wave of hair brushing the glass.  "I love you."  I closed by eyes, bathing in his words and the intimate way he said them, as if we were alone.  I pretended for one long moment that nothing stood between us but air." ~ Aura visiting Zachary in custody, p. 132 Shine

"He turned his head to face me, but stayed on his back.  "You look beautiful."  I glanced at my live shot in the corner.  My features were as dim as his.  "You can barely see me in the dark."  "I don't need to see you to know that you're beautiful."  It was my turn to emit a whimper and twist the sheets.  He could still slay me with the simplest statements."  ~ Aura about Zachary, p. 165-166 Shine

"His green eyes, dark with desire, met mine as he blew out the match.  Then he leaned forward, and without touching me, brought his lips to mine." ~p. 201-202 Shine

Why Would Zachary Be My Book Boyfriend:

First and foremost...he's an incredibly sweet and sexy Scotsman, who wears a KILT (not always...just for Prom!)  He recognizes what you need first and offers that part of himself without question.  He is totally devoted to the one he loves, even when his patience is tried.  He will go through some terrifyingly serious tortures to keep those he cares about safe.  He's incredibly thoughtful and sensitive and puts all those he loves first. And don't get me started on that Scottish accent of his. He is sexiness personified.  Team Kilt!!

Who Would Be My Perfect Zachary:

Zachary was hard for me relate an actor or celebrity to...until the author herself posted a picture of Sean Faris with short hair claiming this was her image of Zachary...and the moment I laid eyes on him, he became my Zachary too.
