Reading Iron's Prophecy SO put me back in my happy place!  It was like one last big horrah going on one last adventure with our favourite foursome...Meghan, Ash, Puck and Grimalkin!

Meghan receives an unexpected visit from the Oracle during Elysium reminding her of a dire warning she once uttered to Meghan and Ash so long ago.  Meghan agrees to hear her out but is blindsided by the Oracle's prophecies and possible ulterior motives.

I think what I loved most about this one last novella from the original Iron Fey series, aside from the little adventure itself, was getting a special glimpse of Meghan and Ash after his return to her side following his quest to the End of the World to gain his soul.  And what we witness between them was every bit as wonderful as I thought it would be.  We also get to experience Puck's reunion with Meghan as they have not seen each other since the events that took place in The Iron Queen.  And I sure missed Puck's sense of humour and Grim's dry sarcasm.

'Old Anna' was every bit as creepy as she was in her previous appearances.  She lured Meghan (with Ash, Puck and Grim in tow, of course) to The Dreaming Pool to show her a possible future, which she knew would terrify her, and push her to make a decision that would break Meghan's heart but possibly save the Nevernever.  Meghan had to face a hard decision that would likely have repercussions either way.

And this last novella also serves as excellent final bridge, ending the stories told from Meghan, Ash & Puck's perspectives, to Julie's exciting new series in the Call of the Forgotten following the next generation facing a whole new set of challenges.  I KNOW we are in for some more great adventures!  And having the unique perspective of reading an arc of The Lost Prince, the first book in the Call of the Forgotten series, prior to Iron's Prophecy...I got to see how all this meshes together, and it once again illustrates just how incredibly talented Julie Kagawa is.  Iron's Prophecy is available as part of a printed anthology of all The Iron Fey's novellas in The Iron Legends or alone as an ebook/enovella.  You don't want to miss this!
