Book Boyfriend: Hector from the Fire and Thorns series
We decided that Thursday needed a little pizazz and stumbled on this meme while hanging out at one of our favorite blogs, A Book and a Cupcake. So we took ourselves over to The Unread Reader to see what it was all about and join the fun. The Unread Reader features this meme on Wednesdays, but we figured moving our participation to Thursday wouldn't hurt anything. We'd love it if you'd leave a comment if you participate in this so we can check out your book boyfriends as well.
My Book Boyfriend is
Lord Hector
Although he is a bit too old for the part, my ideal Hector is Michael Copon.

*He was appointed a King's Guard at a young age
*He becomes a much more prominent character in book 2 of the series
*He has a dazzling smile, though it's rarely seen
*He wouldn't think twice about giving his life for his King/Queen

Hector quote:
“I love you the way a drowning man loves air. And it would destroy me to have you just a little.”
(I'm choosing to not include more quotes, because frankly, nothing can top that one.)

Why Hector is my Book Boyfriend: Hector pays attention to and respects Elisa from the very beginning, when few others valued her as anything more than the bearer of the godstone. He allows her to be herself, and appreciates her honesty and strength of mind and character. He bears those same qualities. He loves her, but refuses to accept anything less that a real, committed relationship. What more could a girl want?
I really enjoyed Hector's presence in the first book, but OMG, I LOVED him in The Crown of Embers! Serious swoonage! I even thought in TGoFaT that he would make a good match for Elisa.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...I've seen this meme around, but I might have to start participating now that you've gotten me all excited about Hector. :P
I couldn't get the post right to express how much I love Hector- glad to see I'm not along. Please do join in, Jen!
DeleteI still haven't read this book, but Hector sounds like my kinda guy! You are so right about that quote...it says everything about him as a hero. Thanks for sharing!
