Teaser Tuesday: Origin, Just One Day, The Gathering Darkness, Blood Yellow, & Moon Called

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

He stands so close, I can smell the jungle on his skin. Bananas and papayas, the smoke of Ai'oan fires, the smell of the earth and the river. It's intoxicating, his scent. It slips into my bloodstream and pounds through my heart, both electric and soothing. I could run the circumference of the earth or I could stand here for eternity with this boy. It doesn't matter which, as long as he's beside me.

What kind of science is this?

~ Origin by Jessica Khoury, pg. 231

Maybe I was just having a minor panic because doing something impulsive like this, it's not me. "Are you sure about that?" he asks. "You're here, after all." "I'm here," I repeat. And I am. Here. On my way to Paris. With him.

~ Just One Day by Gayle Forman, pg. 40 (ARC)

I lay my head against the wet leather of his jacket again and closed my eyes briefly, wondering why this felt like a bittersweet moment. Like the end of something and not the beginning. Something was off. I could feel it. A dark force was keeping me from being truly happy.

~ The Gathering Darkness by Lisa Collicutt, pg. 162

He could feel the water pounding on his back as it poured from the walls. Sitting in his own living hell, his servants and soldiers were running through the house trying to turn the pipes off, plaster and woodwork collapsed all around him.

~ Blood Yellow (Blood Series #2) by Ashley Nemer, pg. 2 (ARC)

"It wasn't a challenge, stupid. He's trying to control his wolf after nearly being killed. Two unmated male werewolves always get territorial in the presence of a female - you know that better than I do. You're supposed to be the one with all this control, and you're behaving worse than he is."

~ Moon Called by Patricia Briggs, Kindle Location 1732

    1. Yes, I agree, you must read Origin soon. I need to talk about it with more people who've read it.

I also can't believe you've never read Gayle Forman. You need to remedy that soon. She's amazing.

    1. I am so excited to meet a fellow Origin lover. I agree - I loved that it was a stand alone. It was nice in the sea of series and trilogies to get a complete story in one book.

I also am excited to read Just One Day. I love Gayle Forman's work.
