Teaser Tuesday: The Madman's Daughter, Dollface, Eleanor & Park, and Finding Cinderella

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Memories of my father flooded me. As a surgeon, blood had been his medium like ink to a writer. Our fortune had been built on blood, the acrid odor infused into the very bricks of our house, the clothes that we wore.

To me, blood smelled like home.

~ The Madman's Daughter by Megan Shepherd, pg. 16

It was men like him who ruined it for the next guy who came along. And there'd be the next one and probably the one after that, because men like him were never anyone's last stop on the road to happily ever after.

~ Dollface by Renee Rosen, Kindle Location 40-42

Eleanor was right: She never looked nice. She looked like art, and art wasn't supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something.

~ Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell, pg. 175

"Well," she says, pondering my question for a moment. "Normally when I'm attempting a risky, clandestine, secret date and I need to escape my house undetected, I ask myself, 'What would MacGyver do?'"

Oh, my god, this chick just mentioned MacGyver? Hell. Yes.

~ Finding Cinderella (Hopeless #2.5) by Colleen Hoover

    1. You should bump The Madman's Daughter up on the TBR List. It's got a gothic, literary quality to it, but still has plenty of YA moments. LOVE IT!

  3. Oooh all these sound good. The first one is a little creepy. I can't imagine having the scent of blood feel like home, but I do understand if one grew up in that environment.

    1. Her father is a surgeon during the 1800's. He does a lot of experiments at home thus the blood comment. It's a very creepy sort of story, but I'm enjoying it.

  4. The kind of art you wear mostly just makes me feel confused.
