Cover Crazy: Sleep No More
This book- this book! My review is coming soon- but until then, I want to gush about this cover a bit. First, the muted hues. They match the mood of the book perfectly, understated and haunting, hinting at shadows and darkness contrasting with bright young lives and snow. Next, the arrangement of the cover model's hair: it's covering her mouth, representing her inability to talk to people about what she's going through. There's also a bit over her nose, seeming to be arranged in an eternity symbol tipped on edge. The composition draws the eye directly to the eye of the cover model, which is intently staring right back at you- conveying that there is so much on her mind that she wishes she could share. The anxiety of feeling that she can sleep no more must be agonizing. . . Pike fans, get ready for this one!
