Oh man...White Hot Kiss was...HOT!  But it was also a well-told story about something seldom written about...gargoyles...a race of supernatural creatures that shift between their well-known granite counterparts and human form.  In this world, gargoyles are the protectors of human kind against the demons that walk amongst us.

Layla Shaw is essentially between two races and two worlds...as she is half gargoyle and half demon...belonging to both worlds but never really feeling like she has a true place in either.  Her demon side makes it extremely hard to get close with her adopted-gargoyle family or any human thanks to her soul-stealing tendencies.  She's lonely and inadvertently made to feel like an outsider.  And biggest dilemma of all...there is essentially a barrier between her and her best-friend-wish-he-could-be-my-boyfriend, Zayne.  That is...until Roth enters her world.

Roth is the super sexy demon who is perhaps exactly right for Layla, as they do not have to worry about that soul-sucking thing.

Oh...plenty of angst and tension and chemistry in this story.  Needless to say, I'm beyond anxious for the continuation of this series!
