Teaser Tuesday: Winterspell, Hate List, The Raven Boys, Blue Lily Lily Blue, & Outlander

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

From up here, she could see the steady flow of carriages and belled horses outside the mansion, as New York society arrived to strut and dance and gossip. The frost-lined streets made an eerie, black-and-white world, as though the cold had sucked out everything but snow and shadows.

The school couldn't decide if I was hero or villain, and I guess I couldn't blame them. I was having a hard time deciding that myself. Was I the bad guy who set into motion the plan to mow down half my school, or the hero who sacrificed herself to end the killing? Some days I felt like both. Some days I felt like neither.

~ Hate List by Jennifer Brown, pg. 6-7

He was still wearing those idiotic Top-Siders she'd noticed at the reading, this time paired with cargo shorts and a yellow polo shirt that made it look as if he were prepared for any sort of emergency, so long as the emergency involved him falling onto a yacht.

The cave was dark and armpit-scented. Greenmantle had done a perfunctory amount of research on caving before setting out this afternoon. He'd discovered that caves were supposed to be vessels of natural untouched beauty. It turned out they were just holes in the ground. He felt caves had been extremely oversold. "We're not going to die down here," Piper said. "I have book club on Tuesday."

Perhaps that was part of the problem. Jamie filled my senses so completely that his surroundings seemed almost irrelevant. But I could no longer afford to ignore them. My recklessness had almost killed him this afternoon, and my stomach turned over at the thought of losing him.

  1. Great teasers! They all sound good! Especially Hatelist and Winterspell. I've read Outlander. It was such a great book! I cried, laughed, and was on the edge of my seat with that one. Such beautiful writing in the Winterspell teaser! I'll have to add them to my TBR list! Here's my TT. Happy reading!
