Teaser Tuesday: A Wicked Thing, Certain Hypothetical, Endless Knight, Vendetta, & Liars Inc.

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

"They died," she repeated. Meaningless words, really. How could your family, your whole world, vanish while you slept? It wasn't death, with aging and sickness and pain and grief, when they were simply gone. Lost decades ago, while she remained young and unchanged.

Despite the recent relative calm that had descended, in the darkest hours of night, there would be malefactors making mischief somewhere out there, and Kat would find them. She was developing a nose for sniffing them out.

Jackson stumbled back from me, making the sign of the cross. Just as I once predicted. With the one gesture, he has broken my heart utterly.

~ Endless Knight (The Arcana Chronicles #2) by Kresley Cole, pg. 1

I stood in the rain, watching the car until it disappeared around the end of the street. Then I thought about the boy with the bruised hand and the inscribed switchblade who had just broken into my father's diner, and found myself wondering why the hell I was feeling so sad to see him go.

~ Vendetta by Catherine Doyle, pg. 102

I spent most of my life being no one, and not really minding. And then I met Pres and Parvati and started to feel different. Not because they were popular or had money- I never cared about any of that. With them, I was part of something. Only maybe I wasn't.

  2. A Wicked Thing sounds tragically beautiful.
I definitely want to read Endless Knight. It's on my to-read list.
I'm immensely intrigued by Vendetta, and I like the cliquish nature of Liars Inc.

    1. A Wicked Thing is really good so far. It's a Sleepy Beauty re-imagining focusing on when Aurora wakes up 100 years later.
