Teaser Tuesday: 99 Days, The Raven Boys, Wait for You, & Looking for Alaska

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm.

It'll make a great story someday. She said that, she told me what was going to happen, so really there's no earthly reason to still be so baffled after all this time that I told her the worst, most secret, most important thing in my life - and she wrote a best-selling book about it.

Adam Parrish had been Gansey's friend for 18 months, and he knew that certain things came along with that friendship. Namely, believing in the supernatural, tolerating Gansey's troubled relationship with money, and coexisting with Gansey's other friends. The former two were problematic only when they took time away from Aglionby, and the later was only problematic when it was Ronan Lynch.

Struck silent, I stepped aside and watched him carry his bag into the kitchen. The back of my throat burned; my lower lip was doing this really weird tremble thing. A knot somewhere deep inside my chest unraveled. My brain clicked off. I didn't even shut the front door or feel the cool air washing over my bare ankles. I shot forward, crossing the distance between the door and the kitchen. Cam turned just as I launched myself at him.

He caught me and stumbled back a step with his arms around my waist. I buried my head against his chest, eyes closed and heart thumping. "I missed you."

~ Wait for You by J. Lynn, pg. 123

I was after a Great Perhaps, and they knew as well as I did that I wasn't going to find it with the likes of Will and Marie. I sat back down on the couch, between my mom and dad, and my dad put his arm around me, and we stayed there like that, quiet on the couch together, for a long time, until it seemed okay to turn on the TV, and then we ate artichoke dip for dinner and watched the History Channel, and as going-away parties go, it certainly could have been worse.

~ Looking for Alaska by John Green, pg. 8
