Cover Crazy: Talon

The purpose of Cover Crazy is to feature a cover each week for us to admire its beauty. I really like this idea since there are so many great covers out there! Cover Crazy is a feature that was started by The Book Worms.

Talon was the first installment in Julie Kagawa's newest series about dragons that live among us and the secret society of soldiers whose sole purpose was to hunt them down.  The cover beautifully and richly depicts the luxurious red scales of a dragon--that of the story's protagonist, Ember, to be exact.  Beside this being my favourite colour, I also felt that the cover wonderfully represents the dangerous beauty of what a dragon might be like.  And the dragon emblem in the title of the book in place of the "O" has an elitist feel...which definitely applies.
