Cover Crazy: Made You Up
The purpose of Cover Crazy is to feature a cover each week for us to admire its beauty. I really like this idea since there are so many great covers out there! Cover Crazy is a feature that was started by The Book Worms.
I love rain. I get giddy when I hear that a rain storm is headed my way. I love the smell of rain and the sound it makes as it hits the roof. This love draws me to any cover that features rain. I love this one as it seems like a merger of a water color painting and a portrait. The way the blue runs down the cover and seems to run along the sides of the umbrella holds my focus. I want to know who this girl is and how she got caught out in the storm. Also, is the storm an example of inner or outer conflict? I'm also interested in the choice to have the umbrella's shadow hide the eyes of the girl. It is said that eyes are the windows to the soul. Why would this be hidden? What can it possibly mean about this character?
What do you think of this cover?
This book keeps popping up on my Goodreads, and here it is again! Maybe it's a sign I should read it. :)
ReplyDeleteI've got to try to work it in to my reading list sooner rather than later.
DeleteI absolutely adore this cover too! I've seen copies of it on blogs, and the spine is absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait until I get my hands on a cpoy!

I'm glad you love the cover too! It's so interesting and eye catching.
DeleteI LOVE this cover! I admit that a big reason for that is that i'm a sucker for covers with a watercolor feel or covers that have an illustrated vibe in general! But I also love the colors and just the overall curiosity as to what it all means! I'm so excited to read this book! :)
