Cover Crazy: Snow Like Ashes series
This week I'm featuring
Snow Like Ashes
and
Ice Like Fire
by Sara Raasch
This series is a new favorite of mine. The covers are interesting, but I think they make much more sense after having read book 1. There is a ton of symbolism in the images. The cover of book 1 depicts winter and summer, of course, while the whole thing rests on a bed of what could either be snow or ashes. The cover of book 2 puts another season into play, and the background image, which appears to be volcanic, seems to allude to a coming war.
I have a pet peeve with series that come out with mismatching covers. I confess that one of the things that I like best about these is that they match beautifully. It makes me excited to see book 3, just to see how the cover will look next to these two.

I love a good cover. I have been known to read a book based solely on the cover. These are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMe too, HeatherAnne. I think a great cover is the best advertising a book can have.
