Teaser Tuesday: Winter Street & The Iron King
Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm.
There are fake wrapped presents in a studious pile on top of the filing cabinet; those empty boxes sit in a storage closet for eleven months, gathering dust, until Cynthia, the office manager, brings them out the Monday after Thanksgiving. This thought strikes Margaret as unbearably sad. In so many ways, her life is an empty box, prettily wrapped.

Grimalkin glared at me. "Your disbelief will cripple you if you think like that, human. Do not believe this impossible, or it will be."
~ The Iron King by Julie Kagawa, pg. 190
All those empty presents--that is a sad thought. I have been wanting to read something by Elin Hilderbrand. I hope Winter Street is good!
ReplyDeleteThe Iron King is one I want to read as well.
I'm enjoying Winter Street so far, but it's not your typical feel good holiday book. This family has some major issues!
DeleteOOoh nice teasers! The first is new to me, but oh how I LOVED the Iron Fey series!! I already miss Grimalkin!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!

Both are very intriguing! I've never heard of The Iron King.. is it YA?
ReplyDeleteMy Teaser
The Iron King is indeed YA. It's in the Iron Fey series. Several Larks are huge fans!
DeleteThe Iron King sounds really interesting. I'm enjoying Amy Tan's The Bonesetter's Daughter. Here's my teaser: http://wp.me/p4DMf0-15o
ReplyDeleteI read Winter Street last year and listened to Winter Stroll this year. There is just something about this dysfunctional family that pulls you in! Also loved The Iron King.
ReplyDeleteI agree - I feel compelled to keep reading even though some of the family members are not my cup of tea. The novel is enjoyable, but isn't a shiny Hallmark sort of holiday read.
