Cover Crazy: The Lover's Dictionary
The
purpose of Cover Crazy is to feature a cover each week for us to admire
its beauty. I really like this idea since there are so many great
covers out there! Cover Crazy is a feature that was started by The Book Worms.
This week I'm featuring The Lover's Dictionary by David Levithan.
I. Love. This. Cover. (and book). To fully appreciate the cover, you should first know the book is entirely written in dictionary entries that chronicle a couple's relationship.
Each word on the cover is included in the dictionary, and the simplicity of the black and white color scheme, with a hint of red, that echos the simplicity of the book.
The heart shape and the handwritten font make the cover feel personal, almost like a letter, which is exactly how the book reads. I also love the attention to details with the red Vs, which echo the shape of the red hearts.
