The Fate of Ten is another great addition to the Lorien Legacies series. It picks up right after the previous book in the series, with barely a breath taken between the two. This is actually a bit of an issue for me as I needed a recap! I think this series will be best read when complete, and I can't wait for that day - I expect to zoom through it on a really fun reread. Until then, I will continue to piece together the events of the previous books!

With each installment, I have been convinced that the next book must be the last. The Garde have been so close to defeating Setrakus Ra so many times; this time being the closest of all. This could be taken in two ways; either the author had definitive plans for how the series would develop, or there came a point where it needed to be extended. I think it reads more like the former; unlike other series I have read which were extended, the plot makes sense and follows a plausible development.

Through all the books, the element I have really enjoyed the most has been the development of the characters, especially as they develop new legacies (powers) and learn how to wield them. This was no exception, with Number 4, John Smith leading the way with some surprising new powers. I really appreciate the invention that goes into the new powers. It makes me wish I had powers! This instalment more than ever fed my love of superheroes, with wall to wall battles, skirmishes and strategising.

I think that by now, this series has either captured your heart or passed you by. If you have been reading along with each new book, you will be delighted with The Fate of Ten, but if you haven't started them then you need to go back to the start. It really isn't a series you can dip in and out of. It is, however, perfect for early teenage boys and reluctant readers - very easy to read, fast paced and involving.

The sixth book in the thrilling, action-packed, New York Timesbestselling I Am Number Four series! For years the Garde have fought the Mogadorians in secret. Now all of that has changed. The invasion has begun. If the Garde can't find a way to stop the Mogs, humanity will suffer the same fate as the Lorien: annihilation.

There is still hope. When the Elders sent the Garde to Earth, they had a plan—one which the Garde are finally starting to understand. In the climax of The Revenge of Seven, a group of the Garde traveled to an ancient pyramid in Mexico known to their people as the Sanctuary. There they awoke a power that had been hidden within our planet for generations. Now this power can save the world . . . or destroy it. It will all depend on who wields it.

  1. I am actually waiting for the day when the last book of this series comes out ..... I have only read the first 3 books of this series and after that in the thick of it lost connection with this series, so i'm hoping for the final book to reconnect with these books again.

    Great review:)

  2. Wow! I agree about needing a recap after previous books, but it's always interesting to see where different authors draw the line and how much "breath" they give you between plots in a series. I'm glad to hear the series is still going strong for those who love it...I never really got into it myself.
