Teaser Tuesday: In the Arms of Stone Angels by Jordan Dane

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week my teaser comes from the galley I am currently reading In The Arms of Stone Angels by Jordan Dane. This book will be released March 22 according to Amazon. I also intentionally chose something pretty generic since this book is a mystery I didn't want to give anything crucial away.

"Mom only knew a fragment of what was happening and that was good enough. The truth would have only hurt her, so I told her what I thought she could handle."
~ In The Arms of Stone Angels by Jordan Dane
** I am reading this on my Kindle so I do not have a page number to go with the teaser.**

You can read the prologue at the author's website.

  1. I'm guessing it's an angel book! :) LOL! Speaking of, you should come sign-up for my Descent of the Angels Reading Challenge! *__*

  2. @Momo - I actually thought that too when I first picked it up, but it's not about angels at all really. It's a murder mystery. The title comes from the fact the main character finds the stone angels in graveyards comforting.

  11. Ooh very intriguing! Although it reminds me of Twilight in a way. T_T With Bella not telling her father everything...

@Chrissy - It's a good read if you're into mysteries - at least so far.

@Elena - I am not a huge mystery fan, but this one has my attention.

@Lucia - Now that you mention it that is a good comparison. However, Bella keeps secrets of a supernatural nature. Most of the secrets Brenna keeps are not supernatural and revolve around a murder.

  13. oooh somebody's keeping secrets!...wonder what about. Interesting title too.

About GRACELING - I just passed the 100th page it's good so far. Lots of action with bits of humor in between.
    Although not finished yet.

  14. @Sandygo2: I never picked Graceling up because it isn't my typical genre. I just worried there wouldn't be enough to keep me entertained and focused.

  15. But little white lies can sometimes come back to haunt us ... and whatever secret they're keeping, doesn't seem very small ..

  16. @Kah - So true! Such a hard lesson for characters and people alike to learn at times.

  20. Nice teaser! When I first read it it reminded me of Twilight too. But then I read the comments and now that I know it's not about angels but it's a mistery, I'll have to give it another look.
