Book Boyfriend: Nick Gautier

We decided that Thursday needed a little pizazz and stumbled on this meme while hanging out at one of our favorite blogs, A Book and a Cupcake. So we took ourselves over to The Unread Reader to see what it was all about and join the fun. The Unread Reader features this meme on Wednesdays, but we figured moving our participation to Thursday wouldn't hurt anything. We'd love it if you'd leave a comment if you participate in this so we can check out your book boyfriends as well.

My Book Boyfriend this week is the one and the only Nick A. Gautier, primarily from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunters series, but his wise-cracking fourteen year old self is also featured in the Chronicles of Nick, a YA spin-off.

Who is my ideal Nick?
Henry Cavill, hands down. He’s got the playfulness, the dark good looks and the broody potential, all which mak
e up Nick perfectly.

Nick's Appearance:
*Deep blue eyes, now swirling silver

*Dark brown, slightly messy, shoulder length hair

*Muscular build

*A powerful, sexual aura, with a healthy dose of bad boy

*His Dark Hunter mark covers the left side of his face and neck

Facts About Nick:
*Nick has a troubled and tortured past - Psychopathic abusive father, Adarian Malachai, who also happens to be the worst sort of demon hell ever belched out - A legacy he left to his son, that Nick fights with everything he has.

*He's a mama's boy, in the best possible sense. His delightful mother, Cherise Gautier, was truly one of earth's angels and the source of Nick's humanity. To quote the incomparable Miz Sherrilyn Kenyon's website: "The most important thing to remember is that Nick was never human. Nick is, at his core, an instrument of primary evil. Hatred comes naturally to him. The fact that he's capable of love at all is nothing short of a miracle."

*He is fiercely and intensely loyal...until you cross him. Just ask Acheron...

*The Cajun cutie incredibly sharp of mind and witty, usually translated in to supreme sarcasm.

*The man is sex on a stick. Trust me on this. And he ain't afraid to dance.

Nick Quotes:*"The Malachai - Corrupt. Angry. Bitter. Demons All. They were created from the worst of the universe to fight against those who were pure and caring. Each Malachai is allowed only one single son to carry on his legacy."

*"Acheron: Boy, you really aren't right, are you?
Nick: Yeah. I know. It was all the paint chips I ate as a kid. They were good, but chromosomally damaging."

*"Rules and regulations had never applied to Nick Gautier. Nor had the boy ever been intimidated by him."

*"Kyrian growled. "Don't you have class today?" Nick laughed at that. "Boy, I'm a backwoods Cajun, I ain't never got no class, cher."

Why he's My Book Boyfriend:
Besides just being sexy and generally awesome, I chose him this week because *drumroll please*............Nick is going mainstream, y'all!!!! Announced just today, The Chronicles of Nick are going to be joining Harry Potter, the Twilight saga, and the Hunger Games trilogy in becoming a major motion picture! And does the fun stop there? NO! The Dark Hunter series will become a TV series! I'm going to have to be heavily medicated. That sound that was heard around the globe this morning when the announcement came down was my ultimate fangirl death squeal.
