Book Spotlight & Giveaway: Kaleidoscope

The Larks would like to welcome Mindy Hayes to the Nest today. We are excited to spotlight her novel, Kaleidoscope. Be sure to check out the giveaway details at the end of this post.

“Was I still a human? Gosh, I still wanted to be human. Even just to keep a sliver of whom I thought I was. But as I thought about being human, standing in the shade of the forest, I felt less human than ever. The trees fought for my allegiance."

It starts in her chest. The change Calliope doesn't see coming. It pulses like a second heartbeat, urging her to give in to the need to be in the depths of the forest. She's compelled to fight the pull, but the more she denies it the stronger it becomes until she finally surrenders and is pulled into a secret world of enchantment.

Kai and Declan need her to accept what she is, but with everything left unsaid, acceptance may be the least of their worries. Knowing their fate lies in her hands, they’ll stop at nothing to protect and prepare her for what lies ahead.

Will Calliope be able to accept what Kai and Declan reveal or will her desire to be normal keep her from acknowledging her true destiny?

About the Author

I'm addicted to reading. I read at least 3 books a week or more if I'm on a roll. It's a slight problem considering I have a full-time job and a husband who deserves more attention than he gets.

I drink at least one Dr. Pepper a day. It's a habit I've been trying to kick for years. I lose the battle daily.

I confess that I blast girl bands whenever I'm alone and when I'm not. My ipod is filled with Paramore, Automatic Loveletter, Firelight, VersaEmerge, Superchick, Flyleaf, New Year's Day, The Letter Black, Cherri Bomb...

I'm a definite night person. I can't go to bed before midnight. Ever. And if I had it my way I'd sleep in until 11 everyday.

I'm OCD about the most random things, like the way I eat my m&m's or the way I color coordinate the clothes hanging in my closet.

Don't be surprised to catch me randomly breaking out in awkward dance moves when an awesome song comes on. I just can't help it.

I also frequently speak in movie/tv quotes.
