Cover Crazy: Into the Grey

The purpose of Cover Crazy is to feature a cover each week for us to admire its beauty. I really like this idea since there are so many great covers out there! Cover Crazy is a feature that was started by The Book Worms.

I absolutely love the simplicity of this cover. A sillouette within a sillouette, black printing on a speckled gray background, and, if I'm honest, the cover is 100% why I picked this book up to review at the bi-monthly book review meeting I attend for librarians and educators.
The texture of the cover is a soft, cardboard-esque material versus the more traditional slick book jacket for a hardcover. The grey coloring is so light it's almost white and has a speckled effect. The placement of the"O" -- near the point and eye would be -- gives a creepy, mildly-crazed quality to the traditional over-laid silhouettes. I also love the continuation of the letters into long lines. Simple and intriguing!

What are your thoughts on this cover?

  1. The black lines are alluring in a simplistic kind of way and easily show the possible deeper meaning within the story.

    Thanks for sharing!

I just started a new blog series and would love to know your thoughts on what I picked for this week!
