Teaser Tuesday: Willowgrove, A Jane Austen Daydream, Middlemarch, & Every Day
Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
It was amazing how many of the habits he'd developed during his long career as a jack-of-all-trades criminal could be applied to life as a werewolf. Don't draw attention. Stay on the move. Be ready to leave everything behind and run.

"I would not even know what to say to a stranger, especially a gentlemen."
"You speak to our brothers."
"I hardly consider them like men, especially gentlemen," Cassandra said crossly. "They are brothers. They are like a third sex."
"What are sisters then?" Jane asked quickly.
"Angels," Cassandra replied just as fast.
So true. Jane smiled.
~ A Jane Austen Daydream by Scott D. Southard, Audible Download - Ch. 6
"How delightful to make captives from the throne of marriage with a husband as crown-prince by your side, himself in fact a subject, while the captives look up forever hopeless, losing their rest probably, and if their appetite too, so much the better!"
~ Middlemarch by George Eliot, pg. 463
It's only in the finer points that it gets complicated and contentious, the inability to realize that no matter what our religion or gender or race or geographic background, we all have about 98 percent in common with each other. . . For whatever reason, we like to focus on the 2 percent that's different, and most of the conflict in the world comes from that.
~ Every Day by David Levithan, pg. 77

That sucks about the denial. Those always sting. My review will be up on Friday.
DeleteThey all look good for different reasons.
ReplyDeleteYou've got a little bit of everything and except for Middlemarch, they're all new to me.
