Waiting on Wednesday: All Fall Down

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine where she spotlights upcoming releases.

This week I am waiting on. . .

All Fall Down
(Embassy Row #1)
By: Ally Carter
Publisher: Scholastic Press
Release Date: January 27th, 2015

Although I was familiar with her work in her well-known Gallagher Girls and Heist Society series, this was my first experience reading an Ally Carter title -- and I loved it!

I picked this book up with no expectations, literally. The copy I have is an early ARC with a bland, solid, baby blue cover and the only similarity is the white lettering looks like the red lettering on the final version. And, fittingly because this is a great YA read for mystery lovers, the reason I picked it up among a stack of much prettier books was because the title reminded me of an Agatha Christie title.
I found Grace to be a likable character, and the host of supporting characters made the novel come to life for me. I haven't been excited about a series like this in I can't remember how long!

Check back to read my review of All Fall Down on Friday!

Summary via Goodreads

Grace can best be described as a daredevil, an Army brat, and a rebel. She is also the only granddaughter of perhaps the most powerful ambassador in the world and Grace has spent every summer of her childhood running across the roofs of Embassy Row.

Now, at age sixteen, she's come back to stay - in order to solve the mystery of her mother's death. In the process, she uncovers an international conspiracy of unsettling proportions, and must choose her friends and watch her foes carefully if she and the world are to be saved.
